The top 20 Best Dressed at the 77th Annual Golden Globes. Yes, we are definitely impressed by our A-list Hollywood stars. They experimented with high profile Fashion Designer and showcased out of the box innovative dresses. It's the biggest red carpets award of the year. We have taken a whole week in order to come up with this list.
We studied every little aspect, every other detail from the event, in order to come up with the perfect list that enlists the top 20 celebrity dresses at this year's function. We came to the number, based on the year, so, some Captain Obvious thing, right there. This list is not based on any particular order, because, perspectives.
So, without further ado, let's get it on!
1. Scarlett Johansson
The Black Widow stepped onto the red carpet, flying the colors of her former employers: Hydra. It could be an easter-egg to her new movie, about her life before she joined the Avengers.
Looking every bit the magician's assistant in The Prestige, she donned a stunning red gown with a bold neckline and a skirt, that lent her a regal undertone.
Code Red! Scarlett wore the glamorous color, in the form of a sensational, plunging frock designed by Vera Wang. Featuring a lengthy train, and she also wore glittering choker by Bulgari.
2. Taylor Swift
Despite the movie Cats, being in a bad taste, her appearance in the Golden Globes certainly wasn't. Taylor might have felt the need to stand out from her fellow attendees, or maybe the Pop-Star was just feeling the florals.
Anyways, we have to be thankful to the reasons behind her choosing this colorful pattern, the results certainly paid off for her. A blooming floral frock by Etro, in contrasting shades of navy and yellow with a keyhole cut-out at the centre and the back accompanied by a flowing train, it would be an understatement to say that Taylor ruled, as far as it came to the dresses.
Awkwafina is our favorite take on a tuxedo motif. With an exuberant collar that suited every bit of her appearance and personality, the star of The Farewell could definitely give Nick Jonas a lesson or two about appearing in Tuxes.
Her style hit a real sweet spot by being sophisticated, eye-catching, and quirky all at the same time; which is why Awkwafina is the best. Here's a fact, she won the best actress for her role in The Farewell.
4. Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington made a boob chain look chic with the help of great styling, and a dramatic skirt, that lent elegance and style to a risky choice.
This pre-fall look is anything but basic. A triacetate blazer with nothing underneath, paired with a high-slit skirt is the perfect mix of sexy and cool. Add some sleek hair and a red lip to it, and you become an instant killer.
5. Cate Blanchett
Forever a red-carpet star, she came in a stunning Mary Katrantzou creation with all all the sweet lemon-yellow tint, and the sultry bra-top details, Kate looked angelic.
Speaking of angels, Cate Blanchett literally wore wings. Leading a trend of balloon sleeves complete with a jeweled bodice and matching canary yellow shoes, looking majestic.
6. Margot Robbie
While those without taste slammed her style, Margot always turns up the charm for the awards season. The Australian star rocked a white Chanel gown with a beautiful, multi-colored baroque bustier.
She looked elegant in an embroidered in a dress from the recent couture collection, paired with Chanel fine jewelry. A pocket always comes in handy. She earned critical praise for her performance as Sharon Tate in the movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Robbie starred alongside stars such as, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Mike Moh.
7. Nicole Kidman
Older than some of the starlets appearing combined and still rockin', If there's one person that just knows how to appear on the red carpet, it's Nicole Kidman.
The star dazzled fans and co-attendees alike, in an eye-catching red gown by none other than Versace. And those shoulder-grazing gold earrings are definitely jewelry goals.
8. Jennifer Aniston
And here we have the ageless Jennifer Aniston, who looked jaw-droppingly beautiful, rocking a classic black dress by Dior Haute Couture.
She spiced up her look with a vintage Cartier necklace from Fred Leighton. And the ruffled neckline was simply, marvelous.
9. Helen Mirren
The 74-year-old and still going strong, Helen delighted onlookers in her scintillating crimson gown, with a delightful neckline, and a billowing skirt.
She also decked herself with $4 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds! It doesn't get much better than Dior Haute Couture and Harry Winston jewelry. One would think she spent all her retirement money on this, but then one realizes Helen never retires.
10. Saoirse Ronan
The Little Women actress perfectly materialized in soft pink crystals, and a relaxed, edgy style suit. The design seemed a little underwhelming, but she did fine.
Her out-of-this-world hair and makeup tremendously helped the look, but she didn’t dress to grab the spotlight, clearly. Glittery and ravishing, Saoirse looked elegant in this slip dress by Celine.
11. Jennifer Lopez
Nominees show up to major awards shows, looking like they’re ready to pose holding a trophy, but J.Lo came looking like a trophy herself.Donning an exuberant gown, Lopez's taste never goes out of style.
Never have we seen her wear a bad dress on the red carpet, and this Valentino piece really cut the mustard! Combining white, gold and green, the unique frock was collected with a huge bow at the neckline. Also, adding gems by Harry Winston comes in good taste.
12. Gwyneth Paltrow
And folks, all of this is a matter of perspective. While some online have hated Gwyneth's appearance, we here at Hollywooddaddy haven't, and this is our list.
There aren't many people that can pull off a sheer gown quite like this one. This comes quite close to Kerry Washington's, in being bold, but Gwyneth makes it look real easy. With layers and layers of coffee-coloured tulle, this Fendi dress definitely is not to the liking of those who are faint of heart.
13. Gillian Anderson
Gillian Anderson would take the cake in appearing simple, along with Margot Robbie, without having to try too much. But then, there are some finer details that don't meet the eye of the normal person, so, unfortunately, she'll have to go hungry.
If you choose not to be fooled by this deceptively "simple" look, you'll see the finer prints. It's just a white dress, except, there's a knotted half-cape which is perfectly tailored to fit, and a surprise eye-catching necklace.
14. Joey King
We’ll applaud any lady who's brave enough to step out on a red carpet in one of Iris Van Herpen’s singular creations.
Not only for the boldness and uniqueness of the look, but even the design challenges the wearer, which is quite hard to pull off, but Joey accomplished it. We hope she didn't encounter much trouble in fulfilling her bodily needs though, or, we might be too close-mined about that.
15. Zoey Deutch
Appearing in Fendi Couture, and dressed up in Harry Winston jewelry, Zoey Deutch looked up for the hunt, in the red carpet. She did red on yellow even better than popular fast-food chains, making us all hungry for her grace.
Yellow has never had it better than her silk and wool jumpsuit with sizable sleeves. Her look was finished with almost 60 carats of sapphire and 23 carats of diamonds on one Harry Winston pendant necklace.
16. Zoe Kravitz
A single polka-dot print is nice, but two is definitely better than one. Kravitz was a standout, with the black-and-white print on two scales, tied at the waist with a nice little black bow.
We're were trying to pick up our jaws from the floor, following Zoe's wedding dress reveal earlier this week, but spotting her at the Golden Globes wearing a stunning dress made us drop it back again.
17. Kaitlyn Dever
Embellished in Valentino and Jennifer Meyer jewelry, Kaitlyn Denver undoubtedly stole our hearts more than anyone else at the function.
In a floral embroidery, amplified sleeves; and gorgeous mix of the colors pink, red, black and white; Kaitlyn came in and swept us off our feet.
18. Lucy Boynton
Known for her out-there style on the red carpet, the star of The Politician chose to take her aesthetic and turn it into more of a Victorian-robot one.
With an unforgettable, all-metallic look that was full of freshness and glam, Lucy definitely stood out in the crowd of many, many beautiful dresses and faces. Well, at least we won't be forgetting her soon.
19. Phoebe Waller
The Fleabag star served up confidence in all-English tuxedo. Don't worry, Awkwafina is still our favorite, it's a pretty tight contest though. Phoebe looked amazingly sharp and sexy. The unkempt hair was the perfectly nonchalant fabulous touch.
Phoebe almost stole the show in a suit by Ralph & Russo, flying the flag of UK. Decked out in pearls and ribbons, She finished off the look with black stilettos by Christian Louboutin. Do you know she put her Golden Globes dress for auction to support Australian bushfire crisis?
20. Priyanka Chopra
Looking perfect in pink, Sophie Turner's sister in law wore a stunning, off-the-shoulder, blush-toned dress by Cristina Ottaviano, Though, the same cannot be said about her partner's appearance.
It would be weird if Nick Jonas appeared in the exact same dress as Priyanka, wouldn't it
Jokes aside, she finished off her look with a choker by Bulgari. Her flawless hair and makeup were mesmerizing too, which left everyone gaping, after the couple made their appearance on the red carpet.
